Budget Shoe

Don Issue #2

The Don Issue #2 is a great bang for your buck shoe. For the cushioning it uses bounce and it’s not as noticeable as it was in the DON Issue 1. It focuses more on court feel and mobility. So if you want both of those things while still having good cushioning this could be the shoe for you. The materials are light and comfortable. They may feel slightly synthetic to some people but for the price the materials are very high quality. The support on these shoes are great. there is very little movement of your foot even with sharp quick turns. The traction is decent. On clean courts you stop quickly with a sharp bite but on dusty courts you require a lot of wiping and you lose a bit of the bite.

Overall these are a good shoe and great value for the price

Mid-Price Shoe

Zoom Freak 2

The Zoom Freak 2 is a light and minimal shoe.  The traction on the zoom freak 2 is very good. On clean courts you will stop on a dime. On dusty courts they do require a lot of wiping but still perform at a high standard. The cushioning is mediocre. There is a zoom pad in the forefoot but the heel and mid-foot feel stiff. The materials are soft and comfortable around the foot but ventilation is a problem and your feet can get very sweaty. The support is decent and your foot moves very little when changing direction. It is a snug fit and slightly narrow.

Premium Shoe

KD13

The KD 13 is a priced more on the high side but it delivers in performance. The cushioning on this shoe is one of the best out there. There is full-length double zoom that is double stacked in the forefoot. The impact protection from it is insane with great response while still having really good court feel. the materials consist of a soft upper which feels very cheap and is not the most impresssive but they get the job done. There is good tongue and heel padding. The support is fairly good on the KD 13. There is little movement when turning in this shoe but the removal of the Flywire means there is less support than in the KD 12 but it does not seem to be a problem. The fit is pretty narrow. Overall this is a great basketball shoe with outstanding cushioning.
